Let me first cite how Wikipedia defines transhumanism:
Transhumanism (abbreviated as H+ or h+) is an international and intellectual movement that aims to transform the human condition by developing and creating widely available technologies to greatly enhance human intellectual, physical, and psychological capacities Transhumanist thinkers study the potential benefits and dangers of emerging technologies that could overcome fundamental human limitations, as well as the ethics of using such technologies. The most common thesis is that human beings may eventually be able to transform themselves into different beings with abilities so greatly expanded from the natural condition as to merit the label posthuman.
This pretty much captures the topics that we will cover on hplus.club. Many of the hplus.club features are typical for social networks. You can post micro blog posts, link to news sources, you can follow other members, you can publicly and privately communicate with members and it is possible to create public and private groups. The hplus.club forums allow members to discuss transhumanist topics.
However, hplus.club is not just a social network for transhumanists. The site also features a blog where we will cover new developments in the field and the wiki is collaboration platform that will provide time-independent content about transhumanism.
At the moment the site is only rough framework. For example, we currently only have one forum where you can discuss what other forums we should have on hlpus.club. You can also use the forum to discuss other matters about the site.
Many questions are still answered. What groups should we create? Do we need rules for the site? What structure should the wiki have? I am sure many more questions will come up and I hope the community will discuss and answer them.
I am quite aware that it can take quite some time until an online community is filled with life. hplus.club is currently just an offer to all transhumanists and people who are interested in the topic. I think the sites has many useful features that are currently unavailable in other transhumanist online communities.
hplus.club offers two RSS feeds. The main RSS feed contains the latest blog posts. Aside from news relevant about the transhumanist movement, I will also post updates about major changes in other sections of hplus.club. For instance, if new wiki docs have been published, I will inform you about it in the blog.
If you want to stay up-to-date about everything that is happening on hplus.club, you can subscribe to the site-wide activity feed. This feed also contains links to posts related to transhumaninsm on other sites.
You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Whenever a new blog post is published, a link will appear on Facebook and Twitter. Yet another option to follow hplus.club is to regularly view the activity page.
Many features of hplus.club are restricted to members. If you are interested in joining this transhumanist community, you can register here. I suggest that you use your real name and tell the community a little about yourself in the bio field. If you don’t receive the activation email, please check your spam folder.
If you want to play a more active role as a blogger, forum moderator or wiki editor please send me a private message after you registered or contact me here. I am also looking for partners who help me build this online community.
I invested quite some time in building this site. I hope it will be useful for the transhumanist community.
